Hotel Sutter

What a wonderful gem in the middle of Sutter Creek. It is a must in this lovely town. Our servers and support staff, Shane, Kris, Aaron, Indy & Maggie were wonderful- attentive to all our needs and going above and beyond in all aspects of our dining experience. The food was delicious as were the cocktails and wine. Our group of married women can’t wait to bring our SO’s back. Thank you, I can’t wait to come back!

Our son's birthday is Christmas Eve so we decided to go to dinner for his 41st birthday to the Hotel Sutter in Sutter Creek, CA. The hotel is wonderful as is the restaurant and bar. The atmosphere in the restaurant is upscale and comfortable and the service couldn't have been any better. Our servers were attentive and courteous and happy to help us with any request. Our dinners were amazing, from the burgers for the kids to the New York stake for Grandma to the Asiago Gnocchi. All in all this is a fine dining restaurant with excellent meals and service to match. The prices are right there were you would expect for fine dining, I would recommend this establishment all my friends and family...

Do not pass this place without stopping. This place is wonderful, food is amazing and the serivice has been the best! Aaron was our server and Shane was helping him. We also hung out at the bar before being seated and Natalie and Jackson were so much fun to talk to while we were waiting for our table. We came here to treat my in-laws and they loved it. And I almost forgot to mention, the food is delicious! The Whiskey burger was great and we my mother in law’s soup was so good (turkey gnocchi)!

With this being our first visit to Sutter Creek and staying 2 nights, I wanted to celebrate our anniversary at the 2 best restaurants in town. After reading multiple reviews, we chose Element at the Hanford House where we were staying and the Hotel Sutter. Our experience at Element was fantastic, Hotel Sutter... absolutely horrible. Staff was friendly upon being seated. We ordered the loaded tots with the cheese and sauce on the side as my wife has a dairy allergy and a salad to share. The tots came out perfect and were awesome! The highlight of dinner. The salad never came so we just decided we'd forget about it. I ordered the New York steak, with no mushrooms. My wife explained her dairy allergy again and the server went and asked about which dishes/sides she could eat. She came back and said the salmon dish was fine. When our food arrived, my steak had mushrooms but I just decided to scrape them off and eat it anyway. The mash was lacking in flavor and the potatoes had the "boiled too long taste". My wife's dish came out and she could tell the green beans had butter on them. She asked the server who immediately realized they screwed up. She apologized and stated she'd have the kitchen fix the green beans. When she returned, she said the green beans did have butter AND the rice dish served with the salmon had dairy as well. So my wife finally just ordered a salad with chicken- boring but safe. By this time, I'm done eating! Then they bring the salad we ordered as an appetizer and set it in front of me!!! After I'm done eating! By now my wife is in tears, hungry and frustrated beyond belief. She finally got a piece of plain salmon with no sides just so she could eat something! The manager was very apologetic, offered us free drinks and dessert and comped everything. My wife took him up on a drink but at this point I was DONE! It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another when that mistake is repeated and can send you to the ER! Despite the manager's attempts to make things right, we won't be back again!!!

We had a fantastic night stay! The rooms were very clean and quaint. We love that there is a bar downstairs and a nice breakfast area. Rooms were affordable and spacious. We really enjoyed being right downtown Sutter so we could walk around and do wine tasting. The staff Was fantastic! When they heard this was our 10 year anniversary they gave us an upgraded room at no charge! We would absolutely stay here again!
